Diary of a Male Dancer Part 2: Appearance (NSFW!)
Happy Monday everybody! This is Dimitri with Part Two of “Diary of a Male Dancer”. In this part we’ll be talking about avatar appearance and male prim genitalia. Being as such, this post can be considered NSFW after the cut. With that being said, happy reading.
Avatar appearance is a very important part of dancing in Second Life. Part of what you make in L$ is directly tied into whether or not women want to look at your avatar while you are working and if they would like to see more. So there are a few important things to know before hitting the stage concerning avatar appearance.
First off, let us start off with height. While yes, avatar height in Second Life is unrealistic at best a good number of the ladies in Second Life are rather tall. That being said, you want to be taller than them. So walking around with your avatar a realistic male height of anywhere from 6′ to 6’4 might great, you are going to want to be taller than the women when you dance. Dimitri currently stands at an Avatar height of 90. You will run into some women that via slider manipulation are taller than you, especially when they are wearing heels but that happens everywhere and you can actually work with it in your emotes. Also, when altering your shape. Do not go crazy on the sliders, while having muscles is what you are aiming for if you go to the max your skin will look distorted, it will be difficult to fit prim attachments, and you will move awkwardly when you dance. So moderation is key.
Coming next is the skin you choose. Most of the popular skins in Second Life will work actually. Tan skins usually work best, but you can indeed go paler if you wish. I myself prefer to stay in the pale to medium tan range as for some reason I have never found very dark tans to be sexy on men or women. Having a variety of skins is also helpful as it will give your avatar a different look each time he takes the stage. For the purposes of this blog post I am sticking with one of my favorite male skins. While sometimes the tshirt is true and “Chicks Dig Pale Scrawny Guys” those ladies do not usually frequent ladies only clubs, so muscles are important. You want a skin that has good muscle definition without seeming absurd, also chest hair can either be a plus or a minus depending on the customer. Personally, I prefer skins with chest hair and when I can find a skin that has it a happy trail. Shape can play a lot into the skin and look of the avatar as well. If you have a well muscled skin but no muscle on your shape it can come off looking weird and you will be lacking in the tip department. And gentlemen, this next part is important so please pay attention. You need to have an ass. While it is true most of us of the less fair sex have been cursed with completely flat asses I have been informed on several occasions by several women that the ladies like something to grab on to. So please, bump your butt slider up, not to the max but just to maybe a 30-40. You will thank me for it. Now, we’re on to the parts below the belt.
ONCE AGAIN. THE FOLLOWING BELOW IS NSFW (NOT SAFE FOR WORK)
When the tip jar reaches a certain amount, all the clothes come off. It is the law of the land for any strip club both in the real world and the virtual. However, the ladies you are dancing for did not pay you their hard earned L$ to see a ken doll. Second Life has no default male penis so therefore it was left in the hands of content creators. I personally own three of them and I’ll be showing them below. And let us all pause for a moment and be grateful that Linden Lab chose not to make their own cock. Could you imagine how that would look?
First up is the Lotus.
Out of the three cocks I’ll be showing you in this post The Incredible Cock Evolution Gold Edition by Midnight Lotus is the first one I owned. It is also the least expensive coming in at roughly 579L. It is fairly realistic looking. It has custom sizing so instead of sizing up the cock and the balls at the same time you can adjust each separately. It comes with a HUD and with that you can adjust the level of erectness, how much it talks, whether other people can touch it, and you can begin to adjust the shade of it. Adjusting the shade of a prim cock to a skin is the bane of every Second Life male out there. It can sometimes take hours and even after that you will be close but not perfect. Customization for the lotus takes place in the hud. You select an approximate base and from there you are instructed to use the edit tool to adjust the shade. While usually effective for a new user it can be confusing and in the end frustrating. The Lotus also comes with the option to buy extra foreskin to appear uncut as well as having additional tattoos and piercings you can buy.
Up next is the REALASM Gold Edition Cock. It looks more realistic than the Lotus. It’s harder to match colors even though the HUD comes with a color wheel. Basically you select the color for the balls, the shaft and the head and then you move a slider from lighter to darker or vice versa. It has no extras as of yet however, they are in the works. This cock also features an option for pubic hair. Almost all of my skins have pubic hair on them so for me personally I seldom use this option. The Realsm cock is also bigger than the Lotus. The size can actually go from it’s a really cold day outside to “Hey you try walking around with this thing”. The REALSM Gold edition also has updates for free and costs 899L$
Finally we have the Xcite! X4. This is currently only available in Xcite Premier but that may change soon. Out of all the cocks reviewed this one is the most expensive, coming in at 1,000L$ for the core package. It however is so far my favorite in Second Life. The X4, when you purchase it lets you select from several options on shaft and balls. Anywhere from long and straightl, curved and thick (seen above), ones that retreat when not erect, canine for the furry folk, uncut, cut, hanging to the left, the whole 9 years. The ball selection goes from tight and hanging , to pierced, covered, big, bigger on one side, and the list goes on and on. When you purchase the X4, you pick one of each. From there you can purchase additional shafts and balls and add them to the hud so they can be switched out however you see fit. It also has additional piercings, bows, sheathes, tattoos, and stuff I can’t even know how to describe for it that can be added in as well. But in my opinion, where the X4 really shines is matching prim cock to skin tone. Currently via their rather well designed HUD, you click configure and it takes you to a control panel website. From there, you can select a skin maker. So far the skin makers listed are: 007, Belleza, CheerNo, Dutch Touch, Muism, Redgrave, Reila, The Abyss, and Unique. You select the maker and then the skin tone from their line. Afterwards, you press sync on the hud and voila you are done. Skin not listed? That is okay because the hud and website control panel features a very detailed system for matching tones. Matching this cock to the Belleza Mathieu skin I am wearing for these photos took roughly two minutes of my time. So it is worth the extra price of the cock when you consider ease of use. (Yes, I am a fan of it. Have not taken it off since I got it).
So this concludes Part Two of Diary of a Male Dancer. Next time we’ll be covering emotes, what to do, what not to do, and exactly how far can you go.
Thanks :)
